Ubon Rachatani University moving for Green University

Ubon Rachatani University (UBU) is one of the leading universities in Northeastern Area in Thailand with over 15,000 students studying in 11 faculties. UBU has participated in UI Green Metric University Ranking Program, which was launched by Universitas Indonesia in 2010, with purpose of giving credit to those who making effort to reduce greenhouse gas emission to combat against climate change. There are 956 universities from all over the world participated in the Program and UBU is ranked at 381 in 2021. UBU, therefore, set up its target to up their rank in 2022 by adding another 500 points in the program. UBU is under discussion with Natural Resources & Environment Office of Ubon Rachatani Province to develop a project on Local Renewable Energy Generation for Local Consumption together with City of Kitakyushu, Japan, which is one of the prominent environment city in the world. Chaired by Dr. Thanudkij Chareerat, Assistant to the President for Infrastructure Development and Landscaping, a meeting among the parties was held at Ubon Rachatani University on June 21, 2022.
