TPC Power Holding PCL (TPCH) successfully has repaid its 2-year-and-9-month debentures, No. 2/2564 (2021) (TPCH246A) for a total of THB 1,514 million, including interest. The company was able to make the full payment on the scheduled redemption date. Recently, TPCH has also signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) for the Siam Power Naklang Co., Ltd. (SPNK) waste to energy power plant project of the Naklang Subdistrict Administrative Organization. The SPNK power plant has an installed capacity of 9.9 megawatts (MW) and is set for its scheduled commercial operation date (SCOD) in 2026. TPCH is committed to developing renewable energy projects both domestically and internationally to drive sustainable growth in the future.
Mrs. Kanoktip Chanpalangsri, Chairman of Executive Board of TPCH, announced that the company has successfully repaid its debentures issued and offered for sale under the name of Debenture No. 1/2564 (2021) (TPCH246A) with a fixed interest rate of 4.50% per annum, payable every 3 months. The debentures were offered to institutional investors and high net worth individuals and were due for redemption on June 30, 2024, in the amount of THB 1,500 million. The company has fully repaid the debentures with interest to the debenture holders in the total amount of approximately THB 1,514 million.
Mr.Cherdsak Wattanavijitkul, Executive Director of TPCH, informed that on July 10, 2024, the waste to energy power plant project, located in Naklang Subdistrict, Sung Noen District, Tak Province, owned by SPNK which is a subsidiary of Siam Power Co., Ltd. (a Joint Venture of TPCH), signed a PPA with the PEA for the purchase of electricity from very small power producers (VSPP). The PEA will purchase a maximum proposed electricity generated of 8 MW from the project. The project is set for its scheduled commercial operation date (SCOD) on December 29, 2026.
The signing of the PPA for the SPNK MSW-to-energy project, which is operated under Siam Power Co., Ltd. and TPCH (holds 50% of shares), with total installed capacity to 9.9 MW and the amount of electricity offered for sale to 8 MW, brings the company's total PPA for waste to energy power plants to 29.3 MW. In addition, the company is aiming to develop 4 more renewable energy projects of the waste to energy type, namely SP4-SP7, which are VSPP projects.
The company is expanding its solar power projects in the Lao PDR by investing 40% in Mekong Power Co., Ltd. (MKP), which generates and sells solar power in the Lao PDR. MKP has already signed a PPA for 100 MW with Electricité Du Laos (EDL), the state-owned power utility. Site preparation have finished and initial structural work and fencing for the substation zone have commenced. An Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract has been signed with a Chinese contractor for the project. There are also plans to export electricity from the Lao PDR to Vietnam as part of another project.
The company is currently in the process of applying for permits for solar power projects with a total capacity of 180-200 MW and wind power projects with a total capacity of 50-100 MW in Cambodia.
The company maintains its target of having a total generating capacity of 500 MW by 2026, consisting of 150 MW of domestic power plants (80 MW of biomass power plants and 70 MW of waste to energy power plants), as well as 350 MW of solar and wind power projects overseas. The company currently has a total installed capacity of 110 MW from biomass and waste to energy power plants. TPCH is actively developing projects both domestically and internationally to ensure that the various projects can be commercially operational (COD) on schedule for strong and sustainable growth in the future.
