Pattaya City Accelerates to draft contract for the construction of the Koh Larn incinerator After found that the waste collection area in the manhole is almost full and there are still more than 50,000 tons of old waste. New waste after opening the country has reached 25 tons per day.
Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City said that approx. 50,000 tons of waste in Koh Lan, piled up on the ground, is waiting to be incinerated. There are 2 piles covered by HDPE sheets to prevent odors and sprayed liquid to deodorize the waste dump area. Pattaya City have to rush to draft a contract for the construction of the incinerator in 2023, as the landfills in Koh Larn will be able to receive waste for another 2 years only.
Pattaya City does not employ private companies to collect garbage in Koh Lan and assign city officials to collect as garbage collection area in Koh Lan is enough small for city to manage by themselves.
The City designed to constructed 2 units of incinerator with capacity of 25 t/d or 50 tons per day in total and is drafting a contract for the decree to interpret how much coverage the upcoming incinerator contract will cover. And Pattaya City will benefit the most or not. Since the incinerator is a small incinerator capable of incinerating 25 tons of waste per furnace, construction must be expedited to catch up with the year 2023
