The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) announced new criteria for purchasing electricity generated from solar power schemes in 2021–2030. The new criteria will be granted for electricity purchases under long-term contracts of 10 years with a maximum of 90 MW.
This criteria aims to increase power production in Thailand accordance with the Thailand Power Development Plan (PDP) 2018-2037 (Rev. 1) or PDP 2018 REV.1. Due to the fact that ERC has announced to purchase electricity generated from solar power schemes since 2019, the amount of electricity procured is only 9 MW of the 260 MW target.
