DEDE has proposed “Tax reduction measure for Solar Rooftop Installation” and “Corporate Income Tax reduction measure for purchasing 13 equipment” and expected that it will be used in July 2024.
Director General of Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE) has revealed the progress of proposed solar rooftop tax reduction that DEDE has already submitted the proposal to the Minister of Energy, and it is under revision the details before sending to the Cabinet for approval. the target of this measure is Tax reduction for 90,000 households installed solar rooftop with a capacity not exceeding 10 kilowatts.
This measure is expected to generate 20,250 million baht in investments, reduce electricity consumption by 585 million units per year, reduce LNG imports by 9,000 tons (equivalent to 2,100 million baht) and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 0.28 million tons per year.
In addition, DEDE will propose tax reduction measures for juristic person in purchasing 13 equipment, e.g. refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, refrigerated display cabinet, automatic water pumps, Variable Speed Drive, piston air compressors, heat pumps, welding machines, window films, building paints, induction motors, and glass. This measure aims to reduce electricity consumption in five years by 29,020 million units, reduce LNG imports by 203 million MMBTU (equivalent to 105,551 million baht), and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
